Now I Just Need to Do the Finishing

My days have been filled with either office work or working on THE quilt…and my evenings have been spent doing needlework in front of the television. I don’t have any photos yet of the quilt…although progress IS being made. I am bound and determined to complete it before mid-summer…it’s my goal.

But I did complete some needlework. However, I am really bad at getting the final finishing completed. One reason is that the framing costs SO much money. But I don’t have any excuses for the last three ornaments I made and still haven’t done the “finishing.”

Here is my Eiffel Tower from Jardin Prive. I did change a couple of the motifs…the major one being adding my “bee.” I also changed a few other items. Now I just need a frame.

Here are a few photos of the 4th LHN ornament in the series. I have done the “finishing” on 1 and 2…but 3 and 4 are still waiting for the “finishing.” I already have 5 and 6 in the series waiting to be stitched….and number seven is coming out on May 25th!!!! Will I EVER get caught up? Maybe before Christmas? This is #4 called Snowy Pines. You can see them all or purchase one at Anita’s Little Stitches. I really like the colors and motifs in this one.

Does anyone else have trouble procrastinating with their “finishing”???     What’s the secret to getting it done?    Let me know.

In my next post, I’ll have photos of a project I did with my new needlework guild.

The Eiffel Tower piece is gorgeous. Love the colors.

And the the LHN ornie is so sweet. I’m a sucker for a cute bear.

I like finishing things because it feels so good to get something completed all the way to the very end. So I’m no help on this one.

Did you know the bee was also Napoleon’s symbol?

    Lovely work, as always.

As for finishing, it often sits until I have a reason–I need a gift or I want something done for show-n-tell–I find show-n-tell a great motivator.

Your Eiffel Tower piece is beautiful — love the bee! And the LHN ornament is pretty too. Hope you manage to finish all the ornaments when you want to.

I love your bee! It’s perfect for the piece.

I haven’t finished my first stitching piece yet so I haven’t had any project waiting to be fully completed. I’m working on my first ornie now so I will need to begin thinking about it soon.

Beautiful finishes! I love them both. I need to do my May ornament soon–I can’t believe how quickly this month has whizzed by.

I stink at finishing so I always procrastinate on it! I’m no help at all, LOL.

You do wonderful work. I love both of them. And I’m such a procrastinator when it comes to finishing. I’ve got things down there from years ago that I should finish one of these days.

    You…cross-stich fairy!
Speaking of cross-stitch sites, you can also visit Monipatch listed in my blog links. I am certain you will love it. I happened to know and meet her personnally for ATCs tradings.

I have a huge pile of stitching is that waiting to be finished in one way or another. That’s one of my goals for this year, to do something with them. I went to an evening class to learn picture framing to make it cheaper to frame things, but it has been a long time since I have done any. Another thing I am hoping to get back to this year
