Grow Your Blog

Welcome everyone to Averyclaire Needlearts!   I am excited to be a part of the “Grow Your Blog Party.”  Thank you for stopping in to visit.

I am a midwesterner, born and raised in the Chicago area.   Whether I am home or away, I keep busy hands.  There is nothing more wonderful than a cup of hot  tea while having a piece of some kind of needlework, sewing, quilting, or knitting in my hands.    An early morning in the perennial garden fills my soul. I can get lost for weeks in books and am a passionate Francophile. Music to sooth the soul is Andrea Bocelli, Adamo, and John Denver.

My grandmother, Clara Avery, taught me to knit when I was seven and instilled into me the gentle art of all kinds of needlework.

If you leave a comment on this post you will be entered in the drawing to win a prize (the drawing will be held on February 15th).   It will be a lovely cross-stitched surprise.   However, please scroll through my blog to see some of my projects.  I hope you enjoy them all and I look forward to seeing all of your projects as well.

 Amities, Averyclaire

    Dear Averyclaire,

What a beautiful blog you have!

I am one of the volunteers for the Grow Your Blog party just to make sure that the links on Vicki’s post are working correctly. It’s been so much fun to see all your creations. You are very talented (and must be very patient to do that all stitching!)

Like you, my grandmother taught me to knit and to this day knitting is what brings me back to center.

Greetings from beautiful (and very cold recently) Savannah! xo Silke

What stunning quilts and needlework! Thank you for sharing a little bit about you. I recently moved to very near the area where John Denver penned his famous song “Take Me Home Country Roads”. Needless to say, it is very beautiful here in W. Va. I’m visiting from the GROW YOUR BLOG party – Come visit my blog and you’ll see a few photos of that area! TheCranesNest.com

I love all your hand work. I, too, enjoy cross stitch and quilting. My mother taught me to knit at a young age. I knit mostly dishcloths. I’ll get a call from my daughter to ask for them. She doesn’t ask for much, so it’s a thrill to make them for her. I try to make one novelty one for her. Last time I made her a Tweety Bird. I asked my son if he would like son – he’s getting ready to move back in with his son’s mom and said she doesn’t have any/many, so I’ll make her some. She and I have always been good friends. You do amazing work and I can tell you really enjoy it. I am following you via email now and am thrilled to have found you and know that you are growing your blog.

Wow! Your quilting is simply gorgeous! I am following through Bloglovin’. (I stopped by last night and cannot remember if I commented or not, so I hope this is not a silly duplicate. Your work is just so pretty!)

Still working my way through the GYB party. Love looking at your quilts and have a goal this year to finish some of my UFOs. Will definitely need to spend more time looking through your pics. Am now a new follower.

Another cross stitcher [smile] … your quilts are great too! I absolutely love the biscornu design. Where did you get the pattern?
Would love to enter for a cross stitched surprise (those are the best … guess how I got my first biscornu). I am having a giveaway too for the party … but it will be a surprise even to me … but seriously I should post the picture soon.

    Enjoy the party!

Hi AveryClaire. It’s so nice to meet you. I’m visiting from the GYB party. You are very talented and I love, love your work. If only I had the patience to do what you do with your hands. I just don’t have it. I’m off to browse more of your blog.

    Hi Averyclaire,

What an unusual name — I haven’t heard it before. It definitely has a nice ring to it. 🙂

Your cross-stitching is lovely. I especially like the pumpkins (I love fall and Halloween, you see). 🙂 Thanks also for the chance to win a cross-stitched surprise. Whoever wins the treasure will surely love it.

    Lots of greetings from Germany,
    Birgit
