Finishes for the Upcoming Seasons

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. Everyone is thinking ahead and stitching up some lovely things to cover all the coming celebrations. It has been a busy few weeks in my studio finishing up some beautiful and amazing stitching.

Carol J. now has a place to store her needles and pins with her new needle book.

Nancy H. has another pillow similar to her Halloween one…this one for Christmas which will look lovely in her home. It’s not a small pillow…maybe about 11×16 inches. Love the soft colors she chose.

Carol J. found two of her three kings and decided to have them finished for the holiday this year. They now have a luscious deep forest green velvet back!

Becky M. stitched up two lovely Christmas ornaments…a “peaceful” angel and a cheery cardinal.

Anne L. was lucky enough to purchase the chart for the new Prairie Schooler Christmas “reindeer.” We will all surely miss Prairie Schooler designs!

And last but not least Southpaw Stitcher quickly stitched this fun and lovely Blackbird Design and requested a “box” finish. I think I need to find a box a make one for myself! Love this one.

Thank you to everyone for your trust in me to create lovely things from your beautiful stitching!

More finishes to post soon. I have so busy in my studio there has been little time for me to stitch anything for myself! However, I did have a LOT of fun this month in showing my finished quilt at my quilt and needlework meetings and telling the story behind it. I haven’t had a quilt to show for a LONG, LONG time!

All this beautiful hand crafted stitching, and how lovely they all look after your finishing touches. I used to do fine needle work, but my eye sight is not as good as it used to be for small items, Now it’s just the occasional lavender bags.

Your finishing is wonderful. I am in love. Are you going to me finishing canvas pieces into pillows, stand ups, etc?

I always know I’m in for a treat when I visit your blog, Karen!! The finishing on these beautifully stitched pieces is amazing. I especially love the inside of the box and that gorgeous Thankful piece. Simple, but elegant 🙂

I do hope you get more hours for your own stitching, but I know it must be a joy to help others’ finishes look so wonderful!

Your crisp and precise, beautiful finishes showcase the needlework perfectly. With your creative ideas and with the care and attention that you give each item, I’m not at all surprised that people entrust their precious work to you for finishing.

I love the box finish. I think it could make a perfect finish to a small piece of boutis. What do you think?

Interesting to see these beautiful finishes, of course you can’t find time to do your own stitching. Wonderful work.

WOW!!! You are amazing! I am working on a crazy quilt and got on line looking for ideas, came across your website….so glad to find you. I have a carpenters star quilt on the frame, but in the evening I work on the crazy quilt, while watching TV with my husband. By the way I love the Hallmark channel, too. Anyway, the thing I am most excited about is to find someone that still “hand quilts”. To me it makes all the difference in the world. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful work.
