A Gift for Judy

My sister-in-law, Judy, has ALWAYS been more like a sister to me. I don’t get to see her as much as I like, because she lives in Iowa. But when we are together we sure have such fun and NEVER run out of things to say. Her birthday was December 17th and I just finished this little gift for her. It finally found its way into the mail last week, nearly a month late! Sorry, Judy…but, better late than never. She just received it and LOVES it. I’m so happy. I LOVE to surprise people. She actually used an alias name and tried to win my give away a while back. She didn’t win, but little did she know that I already had something similar in process for her!?!

The pattern is from the 2010 December Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue, done on Misty Blue, 32 ct. linen.

Happy Birthday Judy! May your days be filled with laughter and may you have MANY more birthdays!

AND HERE’S A GIFT I MADE FOR MYSELF………

I have a wonderful collection of scissors, now I guess I must make myself some fobs. This is the first cross-stitched one I have! Isn’t this Santa cute?

Both are lovely, but I really love the trim on Judy’s fob. It looks like a beaded edging, very pretty.

Both are gorgeous! You make wonderful fobs. I especially like the fringe you have added to the top one. How fortunate you are to have such a special relationship with your SIL.

Those are both so nice and look perfect with the mini-scissors. That’s so funny how your SIL entered your contest under an assumed name!

Okay, I knew I was far behind on blog commenting, but I didn’t think it was this bad!! Yikes! Sorry for not commenting on earlier posts. First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS on the new baby!!! I know you must be so excited. 🙂 I’ll keep everybody in my prayers. My mother is in Delaware and my brother & his family are in Arvada, and she gets out there a lot. That retirement came just in time for you! 😉

Love the finishes! How neat that you did that for your SIL. I have a SIL that is very special to me… I need to think about doing something for her. Thanks for the idea! I tend to focus on my own kids and the nieces & nephews. Congrats on the win, too!

Wishing you & yours a very happy new year.
